Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme launched in AP State
Guntur: Principal Secretary (Agriculture) B Rajasekhar said that the Central government will give financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi to the farmers.
He addressed a meeting held at the Krushi Bhavan in Guntur city as a mark of inauguration of the scheme as soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the scheme in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking on this occasion, he said that all eligible farmers will get financial assistance under the scheme and made it clear that the tenant farmers will not get any benefit under the scheme.
The State government has already prepared the list of the farmers to transfer the financial assistance, he pointed out. Referring to 'Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme, he said that they had already deposited Rs 1,000 in the account of 41,47,571 farmers out of 48,89,276 farmers in the State. The payment is under process to the remaining 7,21,705 farmers.
Replying to a question, he said the farmers whose name is not in the list available with the officials to get financial assistance, or whose Pattadar passbooks are not linked with the bank account number, may contact agriculture department officials and give their application to get financial assistance.
He further said that the aim of the government was to extend financial assistance to all the eligible farmers. Special Commissioner of Agriculture D Muralidhar Reddy said that the government will provide financial assistance to the tenant farmers before beginning of the agriculture season to purchase seeds and fertilisers.
