Inter exams to begin from Feb 27

Tirupati: Arrangements for the conduct of Intermediate public examinations scheduled to be held from February 27 have been completed and all the officials concerned fully geared up to conduct them smoothly in Chittoor district.

The Regional Inspection Officer (RIO) M Krishnaiah convened meetings with the officials and gave instructions to them to take all precautions to prevent irregularities. The question papers were shifted to the storage points on Sunday.

He told The Hans India that the examinations will be held in 133 centres in the district where 52,975 candidates will appear for first year while 54,742 for second year examinations. A video conference with all staff involved in the process was held on February 22 and a review meeting was held with officials in Tirupati on Saturday. The Joint Collector – II A Kamala Kumari held a meeting recently in Chittoor and reviewed the arrangements.

Examinations will be held from 9 a.m to 12 noon for which the students should reach their respective centres by 8.30 a.m and steps were taken to ensure proper lighting, water and toilet facilities. Electricity department officials will see that there would be no power shortage between 8 a.m to 12.30 p.m.

All the centres were equipped with CC cameras and special focus will be laid on 12 problematic centres and six self centres. Security will be provided at all centres and 144 section will be in vogue during the examination time around the centres. Four flying squads, 14 sitting squads, four district examination committee members and one high power committee will oversee the examinations and see that no malpractices are carried out, said the RIO.

From district medical and health department one ANM will be made available at each of the exam centres. Chairs and tables are provided at all examination centres. If any government college is in shortage of tables they can bring them from any one of the government school nearby.

The RIO has warned the managements of private and corporate colleges of taking stringent action if they deny hall ticket to any  of the students even if they have fee dues. If any student or parents make complaint in this regard departmental action will be initiated on the managements.
