Visakhapatnam: Villagers rescue minor girl from molestation by teacher

Visakhapatnam: A minor girl was rescued by the local villagers after a government school teacher attempted to rape her at Cheedikada village, Chodavaram  mandal  in the district on Tuesday. 

The  victim is studying 9th class at Turuvolu High School in Cheedikada mandal and a native of  Vakapalli village of Devarapalli mandal. According to the sources, the accused by name Gummala Konda Babu, working as teacher at LN Puram School on deputation interrupted the minor girl who was walking to school and offered a lift to drop her at school by stating that he was also a school teacher.

The girl believed his words and got on to his two wheeler. Bit the teacher drove his wheeler towards a hut in an isolated place in the village and tried to rape her. 

The girl raised alarm and local villagers went into the hut and rescued the girl.Later villagers surrendered the accused teacher to local police station.  Police registered a case under POCSO act and arrested the teacher.
