Daggubati Hitesh to join YSRCP today
Vijayawada: Senior politician Daggubati Venkateswara Rao on Tuesday announced that his son Daggubati Hitesh would join the YSRCP in the presence of party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at the new residence of Jaganmohan Reddy in Guntur district on Wednesday.
He said Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is a committed and hard working leader and knew the people’s problems because of his long Padayatra. Daggubati along with his son Hitesh, speaking to the media at the Press Club here, said his son Hitesh would contest the Assembly polls from Parchuru constituency in Prakasam district.
He said politics means responsibility and not glamour. He said his son has been in touch with the people of Karamchedu and other areas for three years and may become a successful leader. He said he was not active in politics and decided to promote his son.
Daggubati came down heavily on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleging that he has no stability and never sticks to his word. He alleged Chandrababu Naidu failed to fulfill assurances given to farmers on loan waiver and self help groups.
He alleged that the TDP government is claiming credit on the Central government schemes like PMAY, construction of Polavaram Project and laying cement roads in the rural areas.
Daggubati wondered why the Chief Minister was blaming the BJP government despite receiving regular help from the Centre. "I am not jealous of Naidu," he said. Daggubati said he feels pity for Naidu because he finds many satirical posts every day in the social media against the Chief Minister and his decisions.
He said a vernacular daily had commented that Daggubati Venkateswara Rao was jealous with Chandrababu Naidu and his image. He pointed out that he was not jealous of Naidu but he was feeling pity on the condition of Naidu.
He said his co-brother Chandrababu Naidu is a peculiar creature and never sticks to his words. Daggubati Hitesh said that he is delighted to work with Jaganmohan Reddy.
He felt that YSRCP would win the elections and fulfill the promises made by Jaganmohann Reddy to the people of Andhra Pradesh during his Padayatra.
