Excise officials resolve to curb dept-linked crimes

Vizianagaram: The AP government is taking every step to curb excise related crimes in coming general elections. It is coordinating with the neighbouring states and decided to share information with each other.  

They have organised  an inter- state Excise officers meeting  in Visakhapatnam in connection with ensuing elections for better coordination to stop illegal transportation, distillation, storage, distribution of liquor and discussed about the steps to be taken.

After discussions, they agreed to organise joint raids at least weekly once, conduct route watches at strategic places and strengthen the interstate border check posts with the staff of both states,  AP and Odisha.

Higher Officers of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and AP participated in the meeting. Director of Enforcement and Joint Commissioner of Excise from AP attended  besides excise officers of Srikakulam Vizianagaram Visakhapatnam and East Godavari are attended.
