‘Include all eligible persons in voter list’

Unguturu: No eligible person should be ignored during voter list revision, ordered Eluru RDO and Unguturu constituency returning officer G Chakradhar Rao.

He convened a meeting with Tahsildars, booth-level officers, VROs and others on conduct of election and implementation of election code here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he asked the officials of four mandals to be alert while including voters in the list. He warned them of stern action if any eligible voter ignored during scrutiny. 

Care should be taken to ensure no genuine voter should be left unnoticed while preparing the final list.

He alerted the officials on election code and advised not to take part in official programmes. He also asked them to remove posters and other campaign material as the election code restricts such campaign.

It was the responsibility of the officials to verify whether all the polling stations are equipped with basic facilities, he added.
