Spl action plan for sanitation in Ongole

Ongole: Ongole municipal Commissioner Kanthamaneni Sakunthala announced that they have charted out a special action plan to maintain the sanitation in 50 divisions of the municipal corporation and are implementing it.

She said that they are receiving frequent complaints about the mosquito menace in few areas of the town and announced that they have deputed extra sanitation staff to take up extra care in five divisions regularly up to March 7 in the morning and evening times. 

She said that the staff will clean drains, culverts, spray anti larvae solutions, throw oil balls in the day time and take up fogging in the night time in five divisions a day.

As part of the special sanitation awareness programme, the commissioner visited Christian Palem in town on Tuesday. 

She inspected the drains, culverts, water tanks while interacting with the locals. As few of the locals complained that they didn’t have toilets, she ordered the municipal officials to conduct a survey and submit a report. 

She also ordered them to see safe drinking water is supplied through the municipal taps. 

The Municipal DE L Bhaskar Rao, AE Vishnu, sanitary supervisor K Mohan Rao, sanitary inspector M Pichaiah and others also participated in the visit along with the commissioner.
