APGenco wins 8th Greentech HR gold award for training

Vijayawada: Adding another feather in its cap, the Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGenco) has won the 8th Annual Greentech HR Gold award 2018 for Dr NTTPS Training Institute for its excellence in training. Greentech Foundation, New Delhi presented the awards in the national capital on Tuesday.

Chairman and managing director APTransco and MD APGenco, K Vijayanand has been conferred with the award as the leading CEO of the year-2018 in the individual category of the Greentech Awards.

The award was presented by Kamleshwar Sharan, chairman and CEO Greentech Foundation, R K Dubey, Former CMD, Canara Bank, Chief Advisor Greentech Foundation and V P Mahawar, former director, Onshore ONGC Limited.

On winning the award, the APGenco MD expressed his delight and said that the company has sustained as the best generation company because of its installation capacity of 6,847 megawatt. He explained that the APGenco uses advance technology such as super critical boiler technology in generation of power and adopting best practices commonly followed in foreign countries. 

The installed capacity of generation registered 89 per cent growth from 2014 till now and record lowest transmission and distribution losses of 9.72 per cent, the lowest among all other states, he said. Energy minister K Kala Venkata Rao, principal secretary, energy, investment and infrastructure, CRDA, Ajay Jain and other officials congratulated K Vijayanand on the occasion.
