Arrangements for counting halls inspected in Ongole

 Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand inspected the arrangements for the EVM strong rooms and vote counting halls at QIS College of Engineering and Technology for the coming assembly and parliament elections on Thursday.

The Collector inspected the rooms on the ground floor while the college chairman Nidamanuri Nageswara Rao and other staff members explained him about the infrastructure available there. 

The collector said that as the general elections and assembly elections are going on simultaneously, they need to make foolproof arrangements for them. He said that they should make arrangements for the agents, observers, returning officers, AROs, computer operators in every room as the table-wise counting system will be implemented. 

He advised the officials to see meshes and separate barricade system is placed in the counting centres for the staff and observers. He asked the police department to provide enough security at the strong rooms and be vigilant all times. 

He made necessary changes required for floor plans submitted by the revenue officials for the counting halls, strong rooms and asked them to resubmit them.

The joint collector S Nagalakshmi, RDO K Penchala Kishore, R&B SE Sivaprasad Reddy, Ongole SDC Chandramouli and other officials also participated in the inspection with the collector.
