‘Kavisekhara’ remembered in Kakinada
Kakinada: Mayor Sunkara Pavari said that Kavisekhara Umar Alisha Swamy stands as model for unity in diversity.
Paying rich tributes at the statue of Umar Alisha Swamy, the founder seer of Viswa Vijnana Aadhyatmika Peetham (VVAP) of Pithapuram at Boat Club here on Thursday, mayor recalled the great literary works of Kavisekhara who contributed several valuable literary works.
Present seer of the VVAP and great grandson of the founder Umar Alisha recalled the services of his great grandfather to united India.
Umar Alisha Junior also recalled the services of his great grandfather as MP from South Madras (now Chennai) in addition to services as seer of VVSP, as a writer and social activist.
Convener of VVAP P Sure Babu, corporators M Seshu Kumari, S Lakshmiprasanna and several other people’s representatives and members of VVAP and devotees participated.
