Agri MPEOs protest with Vanta-Varpu in Ongole

Ongole: The agriculture multipurpose extension officers (MPEOs) who are on the strike for the last nine days performed Vanta-Varpu forwarding their demands to the government, on Friday.

The government has appointed the MPEOs in the agriculture department. About 4095 MPEOs took charge in 2015 including the 375 officers in the Prakasam district. 

These MPEOs have started their protests in front of the collectorate nine days ago and demanding the government to provide job security by converting them into the regular contract, promote the qualified MPEOs as AEOs, provide equal pay for equal work and issue health cards to them.

The Prakasam district employee’s association president Vinukonda Rajarao, YSRCP district general secretary Ronda Anjireddy visited the agitating MPEOs on Friday and extended their support to them. 

They said that the MPEOs are working hard at the ground level to keep agriculture at the top level in services and they should be provided job security. They assured the MPEOs that they will take forward their demands to the government through their organizations and see them resolved soon.

The AP Government Employees Association district general secretary Kiran Kumar Reddy, vice president M Srinivasa Rao, Treasurer Kiran Kumar, MPEOs state honorary president Basha, district president Gouse, general secretary Ch Venkatesh and others also participated in the protest.
