Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Government Employees Association (APGEA) President KR Suryanarayana slammed former APNGOs' Association President P Ashok Babu for joining TDP to become MLC.

Strongly reacting to Ashok Babu election as ruling TDP MLC, Suryanarayana accused him of pledging the interests of employees to become MLC and said that his election is nothing but a perfect example for quid-pro-quo.

It was the reward he got not for his services to the employees but for serving the interests of the ruling party in the past five years, he said adding that Ashok Babu set a wrong precedent by his election as MLC. He spoke to media along with association leaders here on Friday.

Fuming fire on Ashok Babu, he said that the former NGOs leader to achieve his selfish ends genuflected before the ruling party leaving the employees into lurch since last five years.

He acted like a TDP activist not as a leader of the employees, who are to serve the government and the people, he said citing Babu at the behest of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu campaigning in the Karnataka election and also in the Dharma Poratam in New Delhi against the Centre which is unwarranted.

“Because of leaders like Ashok Babu, the employees participated in the programmes like Nava Nirmana and Dharma Porata Deekshas though they as employees not to join in such agitations,” he said informing that efforts are on to form a state-level government employees association to ensure to protect only employees’ interests. Association general secretary K Srinivas was also present.
