Radhotsavam procession on Mar 6 in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: The celestial chariot festival, ‘Radhotsavam’ procession of Goddess Durga will be held on March 6, announced the Kanyaka Parameswari Annasatram Committee president B Hareswara Rao here on Friday.
Addressing the media, Rao said that City Police Commissioner Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao would be the chief guest. The temple EO, V Koteswaramma and Trust Board chairman Gouranga Babu would participate in the programme.
The Radhotsavam procession would start at Radham centre and reaches Vinayaka temple before returning to Radham centre. As part of the celestial chariot procession, various programmes are being planned, he said.
The committee general secretary, BV Varaprasad said that the 150-year-old committee was performing the chariot procession every year in a big way soon after Maha Sivaratri for the last 110 years.
The temple authorities would hand over the deities to the Satram committee members for the holy celestial chariot procession. The Police Commissioner will start the procession.
He appealed to all the devotees to come and participate in the procession and make it a grand success.
