Kalyanotsavam at Durga Temple today in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The authorities of the Durga Malleshwara Temple have made elaborate arrangements for celebrating the Maha Sivaratri festival on Monday. 

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Executive Officer of the Temple V Koteswaramma said that the celestial wedding of presiding deities would  be performed on Monday and appealed to the devotees to participate in Kalyanotsavam of Lord Malleswara Swamy and Goddess Durga by purchasing Rs 1,116 ticket at Arjitha Seva counters and through online on the website http://www.kanakadurgatemple.org.

She said that on Wednesday, Purnahuti would be performed and the chariot procession (Rathotsavam) will be organised in the evening. The devotees would have an opportunity to perform an anointing programme from 9.00 pm to 12-00 am on Monday. 

The temple has made arrangements for Mrittika Sivalingams (Siva lingam made of clay) to the devotees participating in the abhishekam, said the EO.
