Women suffer in war: Volga
Vijayawada: Feminist writer, Volga, the Kendra Sahitya Academy award winner said that in any war, women were the real sufferers.
She was participating in a seminar on ‘War, Terrorism and Women’ organised by ‘Taruni Tarangalu’, a women organisation at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati here on Sunday.
To mark International Women’s Day, she gave many examples of different wars waged over a period of time and the resultant adverse effects faced by women and hoped that wars could be avoided.
Dr Ravi Sharada, president of Taruni Tarangalu welcomed the gathering and said that women could contribute to avoid wars by counselling men who trigger the factors for war.
