3 killed, several injured as vehicle overturns
Yerragondapalem: A Bolero trolley carrying the pilgrims from Srisailam to Kurnool overturned at Chintala on the ghat road, killing three persons on the spot and injuring several others.
According to the police, the Srisailam witnessed heavy rush on Monday as it is Shivaratri festival.
A group of pilgrims from Mahbubnagar district in Telangana spent the night in Srisailam and returned to their place on Tuesday morning.
As the buses and other transport vehicles were full of passengers, the group boarded a trolley to go to Kurnool.
The Bolero packed with 25 passengers lost control on the ghat road after few minutes of starting the journey. Three people Kuruva Timmappa aged 52 years, native of Kothapalli village, Gattupalli mandal in Mahbubnagar district, and a couple Narasimhulu aged 32 years, Sumalatha aged 26 years died on the spot.
As the daughter of the couple, Nikhita aged 9 years received severe injuries, the police shifted her to Kurnool government hospital for better treatment while the remaining injured were shifted to Dornala government hospital.
