Speculations over Vangaveeti Radha’s political future

Update: 2019-03-06 06:44 IST

Vijayawada: The uncertainty still continues on the political future of former MLA and Vangaveeti Ranga’s son Vangaveeti Radha Krishna. Though he announced his shifting of loyalties to Telugu Desam, he did not join the party so far. It may be noted that he quit the YSR Congress after he was denied ticket  for Vijayawada Central constituency.

Later, he expressed interest to join Telugu Desam, but still he did not give clarity on his future plans. At one stage, the TDP leadership decided to give an MLC seat. But the proposal was  not materialised due to alternative plans of the TDP leadership.

Now his candidature is being pursued by the TDP to make him contest from Godavari districts. Vangaveeti Radha Krishna’s meeting with former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Tuesday raised many speculations. Already former MP Rajagopal is busy with conducting surveys for TDP.

According to sources, he had already submitted a report to the TDP.  Radha as contestant from Godavari district would help the party prospects in the area. As per Rajagopal’s report, Radha’s entry would definitely impact on the winning chances.

He also informed the same to Radha Krishna some days ago.  In this backdrop, now Rajagopal and Radhakrishna’s meeting has assumed significance. Radhakrishna spent some time with Rajagopal on Tuesday and discussed political issues.

As per the developments, Radha Krishna candidature would be pursued for one important constituency in Godavari districts to attract Kapu vote bank. Already, the TDP has given utmost priority to Kapus with various welfare schemes and also providing reservations.
