AP sets up counter SIT against TS

Update: 2019-03-08 05:30 IST

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a Special Investigative Team against the Telangana government on the alleged data leak from TDP’s software developing company, IT Grids. The nine-member SIT is headed by Additional DGP Balasubramaniam.

The team consists of IG Harish Kumar, PHD Ramakrishna, SP intelligence, Guntur rural SP Rajasekhar Babu, Mary Prashanthi, SP CID, Ramamohan Rao, Addn SP cybercrime, Anil Kumar DSP, Nagamalleswar Rao Inspector cyber crime and Rahimullah, SI cybercrime.

Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa, who holds Home portfolio, confirmed that the state government has taken a serious view of the data leak by the Telangana government to the YSRCP.

Chinarajappa explained that there was no data leak from the AP government side. He questioned the constitution of a SIT by Telangana government to probe affairs of AP government.

The Telangana government has been creating unnecessary confusion among public in AP by crossing their limits, he said. The Deputy CM questioned on how a Telangana resident file a case by claiming that AP State Government’s official data has been leaked.

The person who claimed that AP data has been leaked must be investigated to find out how he arrived at such a conclusion. It is surprising that the TS police had resorted to illegal search of IT Grids a few days ahead of filing of FIR and took away computers and hard disks and resorted to stealing of TDP data.

Within hours of filing FIR, they again raided the company and were terrorising the employees and now the government constituted a SIT against another government.

He said TDP has a membership of 65 lakh activists and five lakh Seva Mitras. Data pertaining to them has been stolen by the TS government and has been passed on to YSRCP.

Any party which has guts and wants to come to power should contest the polls based on programmes and ideologies and not by resorting to criminal activities. The Andhra Pradesh government will not be a mute spectator to such machinations, he added.

The Dy CM said that Jagan was a prime accused in applying Form 7 to Election Commission of India and already it has proved that it had resorted to fraudulent means to get TDP votes deleted.

The police in coordination with the Election Commission was identifying all those who were involved in the fraud and cases are being filed against them.

He said there is information that even the PAC member B Rajendra Reddy of YSRCP is also involved in this, he said.

In all such cases the law will take its own course and they will have to face the punishment, the Home Minister said.
