After Jagan, BJP complains to Election Commission against TDP
New Delhi: In keeping with its plan and in sync with its combined campaign with the TRS and YSRCP, the BJP AP unit here on Friday approached the Election Commission accusing the TDP of resorting to “Direct Bribe Transfer” through electoral data theft and other malpractices.
Accusing the TDP of using the poll data illegally acquired and handing it over to its party cadres termed as ‘Saadhikara Mitras’ for passing on post-dated cheques to voters, BJP state president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, MP G V L Narasimha Rao and others, urged the EC to get the Saadhikara Mitras removed immediately for violating electoral norms.
Charging Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu with threatening the BJP leaders with violence on the streets, they said the state police was acting in a partial manner and hence the DGP and other high ranking officials should be sent out of the state during elections to restore the confidence of voters in free and fair elections.
Pointing out that the government had planned to divert the bribe money directly into the bank accounts of voters, they urged the EC to step in to stop the menace. They also sought that all such fraudulent practices must be declared null and void and prevent cheque deposits. They also sought a special revision of electoral rolls as lakhs of votes had been removed under the supervision of the TDP leaders.
