Trust board yet to be appointed for Srimukhalingam temple
Srikakulam: Famous Siva temple and popularly known as Kashi of south India located at Srimukhalongam in Jalumuru mandal has no trust board for more than one year. Locally three famous temples are situated here, Madhukeswara, Bheemeswara and Someswara.
Along with it, according to local history, about one crore Siva lingams are spreading in and around the temple within a radius of two kilometres. No trust board is in existence for the temple for Sivaratri festivals in 2018 and 2019.
An ad-hoc committee was appointed before Sivaratri festival in 2018 and one Mojjada Rama Rao was appointed as chairman. But he had no decision-making powers as a result he was stayed away from the festival last year and festivals were organised only by the officials.
This year also the festival held alone by officials. Due to absence of trust board, the officials failed to take measures for providing facilities for devotees during the festival.
One Bhyri Balaram reportedly put pressure on Transport Minister K Atchannaidu for his appointment as temple trust board chairman. But local TDP leaders allegedly opposed Balaram appointment as chairman as he joined TDP from YSRCP. Balaram was loyal to former minister and YSRCP regional coordinator Dharmana Prasada Rao.
