Seeks inclusion of their demands in election manifesto

Kakinada: A women convention ‘Sramika Mahila Sadassu’ held here on Thursday sought inclusion of their demands in manifestos of political parties during elections.

Speakers at the Sadassu held at Indrapalem in Kakinada rural on the eve of Women’s Day, said that the Sramika Mahila is facing many hurdles such as safety at place of work, minimum wages and allied issues.

The meeting organised under the aegis of CITU was attended by representatives from different places.

Addressing the Sadassu, CITU national president Dr K Hemalata observed that women are not getting even 20 per cent employment opportunities even though they constitute half the number of total population. 

AP state president of the organisation K Dhanalakshmi also addressed the sadassu. Working women from various places attended.
