Women told to excel in all fields

Ongole: Women should excel in all fields and learn to protect themselves apart from developing their family educationally, economically and socially, said principal senior civil judge B Sobhakumari.

The HELP, Childline 1098, Girls Advocacy Alliance organised a programme to celebrate the Women’s Day at the Government Social Welfare Hostel at Bhagyanagar in Ongole on Thursday and invited the women judges as the guests.

Junior judge P Vani advised that women empowerment can be achieved only when girls start to perform in sports, cultural activities, self defence techniques and be ready to face any situation with confidence.

Women Commission member T Ramadevi said that everyone should strive to protect the child rights and end abuses on children. She said that women should be given free hand in society as she plays crucial role in the wellbeing of a family.

Child Welfare Committee chairperson Ch Bharathi said that the children are losing their valuable life by losing control under the influence of mobiles and TV serials. 

She advised the students that suicides are not solutions for any problem and they should listen to their parents and teachers and respect them. 

HELP project officer BV Sagar said the society should give equal opportunities to the boys and girls to build a society free from gender discrimination. 

He advised the girls to concentrate on skill development from the school days itself.

Junior civil judge Pallavi, Shakti team Ongole subdivision in-charge Baburao, wardens Ch Saritha, K Swapnalatha, Childline coordinator P Mantrunaik and others also participated in the programme.
