Artist Damerla’s birth anniversary celebrated

Rajamahendravaram: The 123rd birth anniversary of well-known artist Damerla Rama Rao was celebrated under the aegis of Damerla Rama Rao Memorial Art Academy at Damerla Rama Rao Art Gallery here on Friday.

In this connection, painting competition was conducted and the organisers distributed certificates and prizes to the winners.

Art Academy representative PVSK Rao said that Rama Rao brought worldwide name and fame to the historical city with his paintings. 

In a short span he created miracles through his paintings and many great personalities amazed to see his paintings, he added.

He is an inspiration to the artists and everyone should follow his methods to get excellence in paintings, he added.

Art Academy members K Amar Mitra, IV Kumar, B Shankar and gallery employee PV Bhadra Rao and others were present.
