Awareness rally on Pulse Polio taken out

Eluru: An awareness rally on Pulse Polio was taken out here on Friday, requesting parents to administer polio drops to children below the age of five years from March 10 to 12.

District Collector Praveen Kumar flagged off the rally at Indoor stadium. It covered ZP office, fire station and DEO office before returning to Indoor stadium.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector informed that as many as 3192 Pulse Polio centres were arranged to cover four lakh children under the programme in the district.

He said that the parents can approach the centres to administer the drops to their kids on Sunday. 

For those kids who were not covered on March 10, the health workers would administer the drops during door-to-door campaign of Pulse Polio during March 11 and 12.

The Collector directed supervisors of medical and health department, ANMs, Asha workers and Anganwadi workers to work in coordination to complete the target set. 

He said that their focus should be children in tribal, rural and suburban areas.

He also asked the medical and health officials to take preventive measures to check malaria  and dengue in tribal and rural areas
