Balavardhan Rao joins YSRCP, brother to follow suit today

Vijayawada: Former TDP leader and noted industrialist Dasari Jairamesh is all set to join the YSR Congress at a meeting to be held in Hyderabad on Saturday. His brother and former MLA Dasari Balavardhana Rao joined the party in the presence of YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday.

It may be noted that Dasari Jairamesh already met YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy at the latter's Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad a few days ago. Now he would join the YSR Congress officially on Saturday.

According to former MLA Adusumilli Jayaprakash, who also met YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy recently, several leaders including him would join the YSR Congress to express solidarity to Dasari Jairamesh.

Several senior leaders of Telugu Desam made efforts to convince Dasari Jairamesh not to join the YSR Congress. Dasari Jairamesh was the founder member of Telugu Desam and he was also close to party founder late NT Rama Rao. He contested for Vijayawada parliament seat on TDP ticket and lost with small margin of votes.   

Now his shifting of loyalties assumed significance and it would boost the prospects of the YSR Congress in Vijayawada parliamentary constituency limits where it is struggling for selecting a suitable candidate.

Dasari Jairamesh has good contacts with the rank and file of the Telugu Desam and also good image among common people. However, in spite of the entry of Jairamesh in Vijayawada parliamentary constituency Telugu Desam is still in strong position.

In this backdrop, several of his friends and well wishers suggested him not to contest on behalf of the YSR Congress in Vijayawada parliamentary constituency. But the sources say that Dasari Jairamesh is ready to contest. Former MLA Adusumilli Jayaprakash released press note with enough indication explaining the details and profile of Jairamesh.
