‘Development possible with women-friendly society’
Vijayawada: Development of the country will be possible only with women-friendly society, opined Justice Telaprolu Rajini of Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Addressing a gathering to mark International Women’s Day organised by Rainbow Children’s Hospital here on Friday, Rajini expressed concern that in spite of strict laws, attacks on women are still on the rise.
She said that men-women ratio can be maintained by avoiding infanticide. She said that women are subjected to stress as more work was allotted to them as women are multi-talented.
To control attacks on women, one should study the root cause of the incidents and bring behavioural change in men towards women.
She said that for the women safety, Section 498 (A) was introduced. However, a few women are misusing the law. She said that there was a change in the attitude towards women by men which is a good sign.
The hospital organised a few events on the occasion and the winners were given prizes.
Hospital GM R Rammohan, Better AP convener DSNV Prasadbabu, Editors Association convener VVR Krishnamraju, Dr M Uma, Dr Manujakshi, Dr Sukeerthi and others were present on the occasion.
