Renault has announced new warranty and roadside assistance schemes for the popular Kwid hatchback. In a bid to attract even more customers than the 6,000+ odd ones who buy Renault’s bestseller every month, the Kwid is now being offered with a 4-year/1 lakh km warranty along with roadside assistance as standard. The 4-year warranty is divided into a 2-year/50,000km standard warranty and a 2-year/50,000km extended warranty (the latter covers lesser services/parts).

The new warranty and roadside assistance scheme is valid on all variants of the Kwid. These include the Kwid 0.8 MT, Kwid 1.0 MT, the Kwid 1.0 AMT and the plethora of special edition variants available, including the Climber Edition. The roadside assistance program is not offered in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, J&K, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

The Renault Kwid 0.8 is powered by a 799cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine developing 54PS of maximum power and 72Nm of peak torque and is exclusively available with a 5-speed manual transmission. It returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.7kmpl. The Kwid 1.0, on the other hand, is powered by a larger 999cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine developing 68PS of power and 91Nm of peak torque, the highest in the segment. The Kwid 1.0 can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. In our tests, the Kwid 1.0 MT returned 20kmpl in the city and 23.02kmpl on the highway, while the Kwid 1.0 AMT returned 16.28kmpl in the city and 19.09kmpl on the highway.

Renault is also offering the ‘Secure’ package, which offers a 5-year/1,00,000km extended warranty and roadside assistance, at discounted rates for all cars in its lineup. The Renault car range in India currently consists of the CapturDusterLodgy and the Kwid.
