Women achievers speak at FLO event
Hyderabad: FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), Hyderabad Chapter, on Tuesday organised a conference in which three women achievers from different walks of life shared their experiences. The topic of discussion was ‘Women Who Have Paved Their Own Path’.
Among the three speakers is Kanika Tekriwal, the first women to enter the aviation industry with her Delhi-based startup JetSetGo, an aviation aggregator which manages and operates planes for private jet users. “Customers hiring a jet are quality and service conscious than price sensitive, this has enabled us to create a market for ourselves and helped us convert cost centre to profit centre for jet owners,” Tekriwal, 28, said while sharing her experiences.
A cancer survivor, she plans to expand her business to Indonesia, Middle East and certain countries in Africa. Chhavi Rajawat, an MBA graduate and the youngest elected Sarpanch in Soda, Tonk district of Rajasthan and Padma Shri Kalpana Saroj, a dalit entrepreneur from Mumbai, who built a $112-million business group, also spoke at the conference.
An alumnus of Rishi Valley School (Andhra Pradesh), Chhavi quit her city job at an MNC to return to her village in 2010. Speaking about her contribution as Sarpanch, she said: ‘In first term, my focus was on infrastructure development which is achieved by establishing roads, desilting 10 acres reservoir under water conservation project and construction of 80 toilets and in my second term I am concentrating to increase the level of education and skill development’.
