GMR wins CSR Award

Hyderabad: GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) on Tuesday said that the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad operated by it bagged Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility -2017 in the transportation sector, under the Aviation category.

 “We feel honoured to have received the Golden Peacock Award. Through GMR Group’s CSR wing, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation which has been actively working in the villages around Hyderabad Airport for the last 12 years, we have undertaken initiatives in education, health, hygiene & sanitation, empowerment & livelihoods with focus on skill development and sustainable community development. 

This recognition will surely serve to motivate our team to strive further,” SGK Kishore, CEO, GHIAL, said. GHIAL was selected for the award based on the decision of a Jury under the Chairmanship of Justice Arijit Pasayat, former Judge, Supreme Court of India. The award was handed over by MN Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India, at the 'Golden Peacock Awards Presentation Ceremony.'
