Rs 95 lakh looted from a Co-operative bank’s email

A private co-operative bank, Sri Sudha Co-operative bank, has recently been looted of Rs 95 lakh, through the bank’s email.

The criminals had hacked onto the bank’s email and changed it’s email of mandated transfer of Rs 1 crore from IDBI, JP Nagar, to a transfer of Rs 50 lakh to BOI, Noida branch, in the name of Khan enterprises and a transfer of Rs 45 lakh to Kotak Mahindra Bank, Gurgaon branch, in the name of Riya enterprises.

The complaint was filed by T L Hanumantharaya, chief executive officer of Sri Sudha Co-operative bank.Police have stated that they would catch the criminals, by tracking the beneficiary accounts.
