Update: 2018-07-05 03:50 IST

I'm trying to invest in long-term. Can you suggest any stocks which give good returns after two to three or after five years?

Stock: Bata India
Ideal Buy Range: Rs 820- 850

Bata India is the largest footwear retailer in India with a market share of 35 per cent in the organised footwear market. It reported five straight quarters of double-digit net profit growth. The company also posted accelerating sales growth in the past three quarters. Besides its strong retail network, the company is aiming at growing through online network, which is a major source of attracting traffic. Bata India has undertaken an aggressive expansion plan, targeting to generate annual revenues of $1 billion (Rs 6,700 crore) in next five years.

In order to achieve its target, the company plans to expand through the franchise route and has already identified 435 cities (predominantly Tier II and Tier III). Going forward, Bata India plans to open 80-100 stores every year.  Technically, it was broken out of 25 week cup and handle pattern and made a new lifetime high with huge volume. It’s price relative strength is impressively at 86 and greater buyer demand shows that institutional players are accumulating the stock. Trading above the short and long-term moving averages, the stock is poised move further high. It is a good bet for long-term investment. On Friday last week, Bata India stock closed at Rs 832.30, down Rs 2.05 or 0.25 per cent, on NSE.
