Tribal entrepreneurs allege disparity
Hyderabad: India’s First National Tribal Entrepreneurs Conclave focusing on tribal entrepreneurship and to inspire, nurture and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among the tribals and its youth held in the city on Friday.
Inaugurating the conclave, Jual Oram said being SC and ST is both advantageous and disadvantageous. “Advantages are we get reservations in education, jobs and politics. Disadvantages are we are not treated on par with others. Disparity is shown. They don’t recognise the talent in us,” he said.
Speaking further in response to the demand to increase Rs 1 crore limit to Rs 5 crore loan under Mudra Yojana, he informed that he would take up the matter with appropriate authorities.
Jual Oram and Etela Rajendar gave away Dr B R Ambedkar Entrepreneurship Awards to some outstanding tribal entrepreneurs who include Anita Raj, President, DICCI Women’s Wing. Etela Rajendar, Finance Minister of Telangana said Telangana State now stands as a role model among other states in the country in terms of subsidies and schemes offered to SC and STs.
“TS Govt want you to stand on your feet. Bangaru Telangana means all must get equal opportunities and it is our goal,” he said.
