Hyderabad: OurHealthMate, an online aggregator of healthcare services in India, on Monday announced that it would raise $10 million by the end of this financial year to fund its expansion in the country and a proposed foray into Philippines next year.

The healthcare startup, which so far signed up 2,000 hospitals in India, raised an initial funding of $3 million. “We are in talks with investors. Existing investors are also taking part in this Series A funding 40 per cent of which will be raised from Indian investors,” Abhinav Krishna, Co-Founder & CEO, OurHealthMate, told the media here.

The startup which operates on the lines e-tail portals like Amazon lists various healthcare, diagnotics and other health-related services offered by hospitals and diagnostics centres. People can compare charges and service quality at various hospitals and choose whichever is convenient to them. Hospitals pay service charge to this portal for the business they generate from it.

“It was not easy for people to know charges that different hospitals collect for same treatment. We are now addressing that key issue with our services. We help people not only compare charges in different hospitals, but also quality,” Krishna further explained.

The startup which has presence across 400 cities in the country signed up 500 hospitals and laboratories across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with plans to add 250 more by the year-end.  Currently, it is tapping corporate sector in India.
