Amazon brings 200 stores in AP, Telangana under Amazon Easy

 ​Hyderabad: Amazon India, the e-tailer on Tuesday, announced the formal launch and branding of Project Udaan, its 2015 assisted online shopping service into Amazon Easy. The platform intends to rebrand its partner stores in TS and AP by November, 2018.

With 1,200 partner stores in both the Telugu states, nearly 200 stores are selected by the company for rebranding into Amazon Easy. Besides, Amazon India has over 10,000 sellers from Telangana on its platform, with a four lakh sft of facility centre in the city.

These retail stores and offline partner network of Amazon are trained to assist customers set up an Amazon account, find products, shop and make payments, in turn earning the retailer a commission. “To overcome barriers of payment, language and trust, we have formally launched Amazon Easy. This service will standardise the customer experience by assisting the customer at all levels of shopping, delivery and payment.” said Kishore Thota, Director (Marketing), Amazon India.

With a total of 14,000 project Udaan stores in 21 states, these offline partners provide assistance in shopping to Amazon’s prospective customers, and function as ground level customer support to the platform. These stores will be branded as Easy by mid-year of 2019 across India, based on specific criteria’s, said the company official. Post-branding, these offline associates will display visible branding of the platform with other add on services. 

Under a contract with offline stores and local entrepreneurs, Amazon Indian is extending its network by providing external service and penetrating the other smaller markets to create external brand visibility.
