Apollo Munich rolls out cancer insurance plan
Hyderabad: Apollo Munich Health insurance on Monday rolled out a comprehensive health insurance plan for cancer called iCan which would not only cover the basic medical needs, but also provide finance security to the patient as well as the family at all stages of cancer. Another unique feature of this plan is that it allows people to renew their policy even after a claim.
“This plan covers all forms of cancer, at both early and advanced stages. Apart from the standard plan that covers conventional treatment like chemotherapy, radiotherapy and organ transplant, this policy also gives an optional benefit of getting advance treatments like proton beam therapy, hormonal therapy, stem cell transplantation, immunotherapy,” Dr Nandini Ali, Chief Marketing Officer, Apollo Munich Health Insurance, told the media here.
According to her, the plan comes with features such as CritiCare and FamilyCare wherein the policy holder gets 60 per cent of sum insured as the lumpsum payment on diagnosis of cancer and 100 per cent on diagnosis of advanced stages or recurrence of cancer, which is in addition to the hospitalization cost.
