Allahabad Bank launches awareness drive

Hyderabad: Allahabad Bank, the oldest joint stock nationalised bank launched a village contact programme at Sahjipur village in Allahabad district, under its zonal office in Uttar Pradesh. The awareness drive aims to reach out to the banks existing and prospective clients to promote digital channels for banking needs.

In a statement the Bank said it intends to inculcate credit culture and channelisation of disposable income, the benefit of clear credit history, and to create awareness about flagship programmes provided by the Government of India. 

Speaking at the launch of the Mohalla Sampark Abhiyan, SS Mallikarjuna Rao, CEO, Allahabad Bank, said, “we have undertaken various banking activities at the venue including issue of kisan credit cards, mudra loans, MSME loans, housing and car loans, Aadhaar seeding and various social security schemes. We also issued Rupay cards to all the leftover KCC and PMJDY accounts.”

He further added that the contact programme also witnessed recovery in NPA accounts, revival and renewal of KCC accounts, and also encouraged the customers to use UPI platform. In addition, the bank sanctioned loan amount of over Rs 48 crore to more than 800 borrowers. And, later in the day, the programme was launched at its Alleganj branch in Allahabad. 

Other dignitaries present during the drive were Urmila Devi, gram Pradhan, Sahajipur, Nitin Yadav, ward councillor, Allenganj, along with other bank executives.
