KTR reaches out to biz men ahead of polls
Hyderabad: Caretaker Telangana Industries Minister K T Rama Rao on Friday reached out to industrialists ahead of Assembly polls while exuding confidence that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would retain power with overwhelming majority.
Speaking at the interactive meeting organised by a group of industry associations under the leadership of Sudhir Reddy, president, Telangana Industries Federation (TIF) here, KTR maintained that Opposition Alliance was no match to Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao and TRS, the party he leads. “There are 40 chief ministerial candidates in Congress while everyone knows that KCR will be CM if TRS wins,” he said. KTR took potshots at Grand Alliance partners for releasing their own manifestos. “TJS is contesting in just four seats, but it has released its own manifesto. That’s ridiculous,” he said.
Stating that Mahakutami took 100 days to divide seats among them, KTR said: “While they are busy with seat-sharing, we will distribute sweets”. Minister highlighted the government’s efforts in boosting the investment by developing sector-specific industrial parks focusing on pharma, medical devices, aerospace & defence and MSME. He further said that by 2021, all the irrigation projects in the State would be completed, providing water to one crore acres in Telangana.
“Just by completing Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation project, we will be able to provide water to about 38 lakh acres”, he added. Underlining the need for taking industrialisation to rural areas, he called upon industry bodies to set up industrial parks in the State.
