Hyderabad: Welcoming the ruling party’s (Telangana Rashtra Samiti) return to power in Telangana, industry leaders felt that the government must ensure continuity in governance and policies thus bringing in a sense of security for the industry as any state would look forward to a stable government.

Speaking to the Hans India, Ramesh Loganathan, Chief Innovation Officer (interim) of TS State Innovation Cell, said: “The election result is a reflection of strong support to the development initiatives of the TRS party. Am very excited at the prospects of taking the innovation and research ecosystem to further heights in the second term of the government.”

C Shekar Reddy, Past National President at Credai and chairman-CII-Indian Green Building Council, Hyderabad said that the TRS government in its second-term must focus on industrialization in other parts of Telangana by developing and encouraging anchor industries in each district of Telangana.

“Metro Rail can be extended up to Regional Ring Road (nearer to major towns) something similar to DMIC Corridor (Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor). This could be followed up by setting up mega industrial townships on ‘regional ring road’ to attract major Investments. This would result in creation of more jobs and development of Telangana regional development (the districts around the RRR will benefit) leading to the arrest of migration of people to Hyderabad,” Reddy said.

He went on to add, “The government can develop new ‘plug & play’ industry clusters in select districts for agro-based industries and allot them on nominal rental basis and extend financial assistance from State Finance Corporations. These clusters will support minimum support price for all farmers, local employment will be created, leading to increase in the GDP of the state.”

Ravi Uday Bhaskar, Director General of Pharmexcil felt that TRS party forming the next government would not have much impact on pharma exports as Indian pharmaceutical industry is self-driven with the support of policies of government of India from time to time. “The pharma industry would depend more on the policies of the importing countries. The pharma exports are growing positively by 12 per cent when compared to the same period in April-October 2017,” he added.

However, S V Krishna Prasad, Founder & CEO of Cito Healthcare Pvt Ltd., said, “The TRS government’s thrust on T-Hub and the mega pharma city at Mucherla will take innovation and startup eco-system to a different level in the next five years.”
