App drives Freyr Energy’s growth

Hyderabad: City-based Freyr Energy, a solar solutions provider, on Wednesday said it witnessed an increase in its business after the launch of SunPro, its solar business mobile App for dealers in 2017. Speaking at the launch of SunPro 2.0, an updated version of SunPro, Saurabh Marda, Co-Founder, Freyr Energy, said, “before the launch of SunPro, our channel partners used to contribute to 20 per cent of the business. With the App, we have acquired around 200 channel partners and now the contribution from dealers has gone up to 70 per cent.”

He further said that the company recorded a 100 per cent growth rate last fiscal year and was expecting a similar trend for the current financial year. “Last year, our revenue was Rs 33 crore and we doubled our growth as we have been doing from 2014.”Besides, with installations across 100 rural villages in Andhra Pradesh, government buildings in Kakinada and Rajahmundry and Southern Power Distribution Company Ltd buildings in Karimnagar and Nalgonda, Freyr Energy finds both the Telugu states as an important market. 

“20 per cent of our installations are from TS and AP. These states are very huge markets for us and is one of the key markets Freyr is focusing on,” the co-founder added. Moreover, the company plans to increase their reach in the Tier 2 and 3 cities in the 19 states across India, it is present. With operations in USA, Nigeria and Ghana, Freyr Energy plans to expand its presence to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Philippines.
