Padmaavat, formerly titled Padmavati, is the new movie that is in the discussions of many film circles. The Indian epic period drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Deepika Padukone stars as Rani Padmavati, alongside Shahid Kapoor as Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh, and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji. 

The film also has the supporting cast in the form of Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Raza Murad, and Anupriya Goenka. The film was based on the epic poem Padmavat that was written in 1540 by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. This movie narrates the story of Padmavati, a Rajput queen. Story:

Set in 1303 AD, Padmaavat is the story of Queen Padmavati. Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor), the king of Chittor, a prosperous kingdom in the northwest of India marries Padmaavat (Deepika Padukone), the princess of Simhala kingdom. 

The reigning Sultan of Hindustan – Allaudin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) comes to know about the beauty of Padmaavati and announces a war on Chittor kingdom. What happens then? What did Padmaavati do to protect her dignity? Forms the story of the movie.

Performances:

The film Padmaavat is so good regarding the performances. The lead actor Ranveer Singh has unleashed the best as well as the monster in him. Single-handedly, the actor holds the entire movie on his shoulders. The actor, in certain scenes, has made the impossible possible and brought out the believability factor. 

Acting wise, the film is undoubtedly a best one in his career. In every single frame, Deepika Padukone impressed one and all. She just excelled in the movie in the last few minutes, and she produces a lot of goosebump moments in the film. Deepika is undoubtedly the magic of the movie. Shahid Kapoor is another excellent performer in the film who has given his best. Aditi Rao Hydari is another actress who impressed with amazing screen presence in the movie. On the whole, the film has a good casting.

Technical Team:

Technically, the film is top notch. The film has fantastic writing by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Prakash Kapadia. The music scored by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is too good. The songs came out well, and they sounded amazing in Telugu also. The background score by SLB and Sanchit Balhara is impressive. 

The cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee is stunning. The editing by Jayant Jadhar is neat. The production values of the film are rich enough to educate the audiences with an epic story. The VFX and graphics work is amazing, and the war sequences were shot well. On the whole, the sound technical output helped the film to reach the expectations.

Verdict:

There are a lot of good things about this movie, but one best thing that the film comes up with is the climax. The last twenty minutes and especially the last shot of Deepika Padukone produced enough goosebumps in the theatres. The film is worth a watch for that particular sequence. The movie is nothing but the latest benchmark in production & coordination as well as the execution.

 The master Sanjay Leela Bhansali did the magic again and had come up with the ideal mix of passion, understanding of the craft & cinematic brilliance. The film is packed with a great story, incredible performances and outstanding technical output. Do not miss this masterpiece and book the tickets soon.
