Puri’s ‘Mehbooba’ is a reincarnation story?
If sources are to be believed, ace director Puri Jagannath is handling the reincarnation theme in his much-awaited film ‘Mehbooba’ which also marks the debut of his son and child-artiste-turned-hero Akash Puri.
Just a few years ago, hit filmmaker S S Rajamouli revived the done-to-death genre with ‘Maghadheera’ and delivered one of the biggest hits in T-town. Now it is the turn of Puri who wants to give it a shot (for the first time in his career) to deliver a blockbuster as his last few releases like ‘Rogue’ and ‘Paisa Vasool’ sank without a trace.
“It is based on re-incarnation story as it is a love saga of a Pakistani girl and Indian boy which ends tragically. Both the lovers are re-born and fight against all odds to re-unite,” says a source, close to the unit.
Although director Puri hailed it as a patriotic film, but actually, it is a story of two young hearts, who fall in love, overlooking the regional and national boundaries and surpass many a hurdle to win their love. “It has a fairy-tale ending,” concludes the source. Interestingly, Puri tasted success with love stories like ‘Idiot’ and action films like ‘Pokiri’ and handling a new theme, this time around.
