Interestingly, Varun Tej who hails from the mega family claims that he is not chasing stardom unlike his kin. “I want to be known as a performer because attaining stardom is not in my mind right now,” said the actor.

Talking about his uncle and superstar Pawan Kalyan, he says “Pawan Kalyan is a gutsy man. He is giving up crores of rupees and superstardom to get into politics and serve the people. I wouldn’t have made such a sacrifice if I had been in his place,” he reasons.

The actor after doing action films like ‘Loafer’ has become a sought-after lover boy with the blockbuster ‘Fidaa,’ “Sekhar Kammula has given an image makeover for me” he points out and adds “I don’t know whether `Tholi Prema’ is going to be the next ‘Jab We Met’  or 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani',

but it's certainly going to be the first-of-its-kind in Telugu cinema. It's going to be a very upscale, colourful and urban love story," shares the actor, who had also featured in the national award-winning film 'Kanche'.
