Balayya to invoke another Telugu legend

After reprising the role of legendary king ‘Gautaumipurtra Satakarni,’ seasoned actor Balakrishna is all set to reprise the role of a revered Brahmin whose photo decorates a wall in German External Affairs office. 

He was a Sanskrit scholar from Rajahmundry and an expert in Yejurvanaveda besides an exponent in Tantrik rituals. In 1938, German officials took him to West Germany and learnt the gist of Four Vedas and used the same to manufacture war weaponry 

The scion of Nandamuri family was surprised to see the picture of a Telugu Brahmin who originally hailed from Rajahmundry during one of his visits to Germany and wanted to reprise his role on celluloid, adds the source. “He wanted to bring to light the genius of the Telugu man who adorns the walls of German office.  His picture is placed along with the likes of Hitler and Lenin. 

Balayya made lot of enquiries and wanted to make a film on him,” says the source, who wanted to invoke the Telugu legend, about whom less known in India and particularly in two Telugu states. “The legend’s name is Dandibhatla Viswanathasastry and hailed from Rajamundry. He was a Sanskrit scholar and an expert in Yejurvanaveda besides an exponent in Tantrik rituals.

As a sign of respect, his picture was placed in their External Affairs office,” adds the source. “ Balayya  has asked script writers to weave a gripping story around this Telugu legend, concludes the source.
