Grand pre-release function for Rangasthalam in Vizag on 18th March; Megastar Chiranjeevi to grace as chief guest.

The count down to the release of one of the most awaited movie of the year, Rangasthalam, has begun. In a grand statement, the producers of the film Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and CV Mohan have announced a massive pre-release function to be organised in the beach city of Visakhapatnam on March 18.

The film, which will release on March 30 stars Ram Charan and Samantha as the leads and is a directorial venture of Sukumar. The audio of the film, the music of which is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, is already out in the market and has opened to quite a good response.

Speaking about the same, producer Naveen shares, “The audio jukebox of the film that was released into the market has received a great response. Earlier, three songs from the film were released and the positivity began at that juncture. To add to all the positivity, we have planned an elaborate event before the release of the film on March 30, at Vizag. It will be held at the landmark venue RK Beach on 18th.

We are being able to do this only due to the support of Visakhapatnam’s Commisioner of Police Yoganand and Municipal Commissioner Narayana. We are presently working on the film’s post-production and everything is going on at a happy pace. In fact, we are quite happy with how the film has turned out.

We’d be sending the prints to the US too, quite in advance. The pre-release event will have Chiranjeevi garu as the chief guest and we welcome all the fans to be a part of the celebration.”

Director Sukumar says, “The songs of Rangasthalam were released today. So far, Ranga Rangasthalana, Entha Sakkagunnave and Rangamma Mangamma were released and appreciated. I request you to listen to the rest in the jukebox. Jigel Rani is an item song, and Aa Gattukuntava Ee Gattukuntava is a wonderful song. The film will have a surprise song you’ll witness while watching the film.

It has been sung by Chandrabose garu. The film that releases on March 30 is based in the 1980s backdrop and will be a film everyone will love. It will definitely be a nostalgic trip for people of those times. Finding good technicians made my work easy. Especially art directors Ramakrishna and Monik brought the period of 1980s to life. I didn’t work hard in that regard because they took care of it all.

Devi Sri Prasad and Chandrabose came together to create some wonderful music for the film with their music and lyrics. Till the age of around 25 I had grown up in a rural atmosphere and I have a bond with it. This film was like going back to the roots.

My films Nenokkadine and Nannaku Prematho were received really well in the US. When I went there, a man told me that I make good films in the urban setup but added that he wondered when I’d make a film rooted in our values. I felt ashamed and that’s how this happened. I wanted to do a film like this from long, but it is only now that things worked out.

The word Gollabhama in Rangamma Mangamma song was only contextual and there was no intention to hurt the sentiments of anyone. My first film had an item song and it was a grand success. Ever since, it has become mandatory to have a special song in my film. The producers loved the tune of the song and we decided to make the most of it.”

Art director Ramakrishna says, “I am really thankful to the entire team of Rangasthalam for giving me the opportunity to work in the film. The audience will be thrilled to see the film. Having been brought up in the city, I never knew the village culture. Yet, I researched and tried to bring a village to life. This film will remain the best in my career.”

Lyricist Chandrabose shares, “Good lyrics got the company of good music. I thank the producers and director for this opportunity. Since almost everyone on the team has a background in a village, they connected well with the songs. I am happy with the appreciation for the music.”
