Update: 2018-03-20 07:11 IST

Seasoned star Balakrishna who shied away from doing remakes of other language movies for many years, seems to have a change of mind and planning to act in the remake in the Kannada blockbuster ‘Mufti,’ starring Shiva Rajkumar, if everything falls in place. “Balakrishna spared some time to listen to the script of the Kannada hit film and liked the premise of the film and his character,” says a reliable source in the industry.

“He will take a call after watching the movie in a week or two. It is a story of a fearless underworld don and an upright police officer who is on an undercover operation. Even though it is a familiar story of good vs evil, it is the stylised and gripping narration that made it a winner,” the source adds. Briefly, an undercover cop (played by Srimurali) goes into the big bad world of Ranapura, which is run by a ruthless don (played by Shiva Rajkumar).

The underworld is filled with blood and gore . The cop finally gets to meet the don. What happens next, forms the crux of the story. No doubt, the anger-driven role befits the larger-than-life image of the Nandamuri star.  Meanwhile, the actor is prepping for his upcoming us film ‘N.T.R’ wherein, he reprises the role of his father and legendary actor-turned-politician. The scion of Nandamuri family has to don  70-odd getups to breathe life into the role of the ‘Nataratna,’
