Fans keep fingers crossed for Rangasthalam
Despite all the hype, anticipation and expectation found in the run up to the making, much-needed pre-release crescendo is clearly missing for Rangasthalam . The promotions from the producers are literally non-existent. In fact, ditto was the case of Pawan’s Agnyaathavaasi. Is Rangasthalam following the same trend?
There are two disturbing things. One one hand, Sukumar is not know to make mass-based films. His films depend on mind games and intelligent calculations. Will he be able to woo the mass audiences? On the other hand, with the major part of the story already out, what if the film fails to sustain the interest of the viewers? If the film lacks the much-needed zing, the interest will wane immediately after the benefit show.
Another worrying aspect is that everytime Cherry experimented, the results were disastrous. He did a different love story in Orange and the film was such a dud that producer and Babai Nagababu almost contemplated suicide. He tried an unexplored genre in Govindudu Andari Vaadele. Producer Bandla Ganesh almost went out of business. What will be the fate of this film, which is a new genre?
Even otherwise, Rangasthalam took a long time to complete and a large amount of time was taken in re-shooting. So, the fans are keeping their fingers crossed.
