Another blockbuster in the offing?

After the 50-plus crore blockbuster ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana,’ seasoned star Nagarjuna will be teaming up with young director Kalyan Krishna, hoping to deliver another blockbuster. 

“Kalyan Krishna is readying another commercial entertainer for scion of Akkineni family, to live up to the raising expecations,” says a source, close to the director and adds “In ‘Soggade..’director has exploited Nagarjuna’s on-screen lover boy image to the hilt and extracted a fabulous performance from Nag in two contrasting roles and rocked the box-office,” he adds. 

After scoring a blockbuster ‘Ra Randoi Veduka Choodam’ with another Akkineni star Naga Chaitanya, the new-age director is committed to do another big film for Annapoorna Studios from June next, adds the source.  “He has a commitment with the prestigious banner, so Kalyan  will be  making a film with Nagarjuna and the script for the same is almost ready,” the source adds. 

 On the other hand, Nagarjuna seems to willing to bet money on young directors like Vikram (‘Manam’) and Vamsi Paidipally (‘Oopiri’), rather than on aging directors like K Raghavendra Rao. 

“Nag has an eye for spotting young talent and the likes of RGV in 90’s and now engaging 30-plus directors since he can connect with fresh ideas, unlike other actors of his ilk,” the  source points out.  Actually, Nagarjuna  has hit a lean patch of sorts with duds like ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya,’ and looking to bounce back into the reckoning with a sure-fire winner. “Kalyan is best bet for Nag at this moment since the former is on a dream run,”
