Rana to essay the role of CBN in ‘NTR’?
If everything goes right, hotshot Rana is set to reprise the role of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu in the much-hyped ‘NTR.’ He will also be sharing screen space with seasoned star Balakrishna in the biopic of the legendary actor.
“The crew felt that Rana will aptly fit into the role of Chandrababu Naidu, since the latter, as a young politician in the 1980s, played a crucial role in helping his father-in-law NT Rama Rao getting reinstated as Chief Minister after he was unceremoniously ousted from power in the united Andhra Pradesh by a coup engineered by the then Finance Minister Nadendla Bhaskara Rao in August, 1984,” adds the source. NTR was reinstated on September 16, 1984, exactly after a month.
It is learnt that Balakrishna who is playing NTR, has reportedly gave his nod for Rana to play the key role in the film which covers the film and political career of the iconic actor-turned-politician. Interestingly, Rana was seen playing the role of a politician in his last blockbuster ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri,’ and also played a Chief Minister in ‘Leader’ and after a gap, is all set to don the khadi for a memorable role in the biopic.
“Even though Rana has agreed to don the role of one-of-the-most popular Chief Ministers, he wants to do a lot of homework on the look and gait to get his act right.
As comparisons are bound to take place since the popular personality is still alive and ruling the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, the actor wants to prep himself by watching the videos and discuss with the director to come up with a realistic look and performance as much as possible,” concludes the source. After playing a dreaded villain in ‘Bahubali’ and as an upright naval officer in ‘Ghazi’, the young actor is set to play a revered politician onscreen.
