Twitterati divided over Salman Khan’s conviction in blackbuck poaching case
The Jodhpur court today pronounced verdict in the 19-year-old black buck poaching case, sentencing Salman Khan for a five-year jail term and imposing a fine of Rs 10,000. Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu were acquitted.
The Court charged Salman Khan under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act.
With the verdict out, Salman Khan’s fans vented out their disbelief and extended support to the actor on social media. While many users believed that the conviction was long overdue, others believed that Salman Khan would get away from the punishment through another appeal.

Finally Black Buck 🦌 got justice after 20 years .#SalmanKhan has been convicted in the black buck poaching case.#SalmanVerdict
20 years! The killed bucks have possibly turned into natural resources after they decayed. It took that long to convict #SalmanKhan. This better end up in a long jail sentence. #SalmanVerdict
