Talented director Karthik Subbaraju says his upcoming silent movie 'Mercury', is not based on any Hollywood film. "It’s an original story and it can happen in any nearby hill station," said the director, who was inspired by Kamal Haasan's 'Pushpaka Vimanam.' "A silent movie after nearly a gap of 30 years.

In fact, I wanted to make a film without dialogues for quite some time. Finally, I found it in this script. This visually-captivating thriller will engage and keep the audience glued to their seats for two hours," he adds.

Talking about his hero Prabhu Deva, he said, "I always admired him as an actor and he is very talented. His performance will stand out and I think a lot has to be explored in him," Coming to the script, he says "Pollution from various industries is a major worry and we focused on this sensitive issue in our film," he points out.

The maker of the path-breaking Tamil movies like 'Pizza' and 'Jiggiridhanda' is all set to work with superstar Rajnikanth. "It is like a dream come true for me since I am big fan of the 'Robo' star. I will pen an exciting film with him," He also claimed that he liked watching 'Arjun Reddy' and termed it as a well-made film. "I love to work with Telugu stars one day," he signs off.
